Are you ready to get care for your child with autism? At Sunshine Advantage, our mission is to provide every child in our care with the tools they need to grow and succeed. The intake process for getting care at Sunshine Advantage follows the path below.
You can submit the contact us form on our website to start the intake process. Our intake team will contact you within 24-48 business hours. Or you can give our office a call at +1-855-523-2327 to get the intake process started.
During the intake process, there is some important information we need so we can start providing care to your child.
First, we need a confirmed autism spectrum disorder (ASD) diagnosis from a qualified source such as a physician, neurologist, or psychologist.
Second, we need all of your child’s pertinent insurance details so we can start the insurance verification process.
Once our intake team has your child’s insurance information, they will contact your insurance company to verify coverage eligibility and authorization to start an assessment with your child. This process generally takes 3-5 business days.
Once we have received a formal ASD diagnosis and verified insurance eligibility, one of Sunshine Advantage’s licensed and board-certified behavioral analysts (BCBA) will schedule an assessment with you and your child.
During the scheduled in-home assessment, our BCBA will work directly with your child one-on-one. During the evaluation, the BCBA will engage with your child in various activities to observe their skills and behaviors in a natural setting.
Our BCBAs will create an extensive evaluation report. This report will be based on the in-home assessment and may also include results and information from additional tests, screenings, tools, or interviews with the child and family.
This report from the in-home assessment is the basis for creating a treatment plan. Our team will recommend the type and number of hours of therapy and care that we believe will benefit your child the most.
Typically, we get approved for an average of 10-30 hours of therapy per week. The exact ongoing therapy hours vary based on approval. These hours include therapy time, supervision hours, and treatment planning hours.
Based on your child's individual needs, team meetings and social skills groups may also be available.
If insurance approves ABA therapy or Telehealth therapy for your child, an individualized ABA therapy plan will be developed by our Behavior Analyst and carried out by our highly trained ABA and Telehealth Therapists under supervision.
Our therapy team represents great diversity and cultural backgrounds, with many fluent in multiple languages that can cater to families’ specific needs.
Sunshine Advantage offers ABA therapy, in-home ABA therapy, and telehealth services to support children with autism and other developmental conditions.
If your child and family need support, please contact Sunshine Advantage for a consultation.
